Miss Cote d’Ivorie Beauty Pageant Bans Weaves & Wigs From The Competition; Natural Beauty Only!


The Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2025 beauty pageant has introduced significant changes to its selection criteria, emphasizing natural beauty and authenticity. unced on January 27, 2025, by the organizing committee (COMICI), the new rules prohibit the use of wigs, weaves, and hair extensions during the preselection stages. Victor Yapobi, president of COMICI, highlighted the importance of this decision by referencing past participants who embraced their natural hair. The move was most likely influenced by their 2022 winner Marlène Kouassi who succeeded the very popular Olivia Yacé.

In addition to the hair policy, other modifications ve been made to theoetition’s criteria. The minimum height requirement has been adjusted from 1.68 meters to 1.67 meters, and the age limit for partants has been extended from 25 to 28 years.
