New Release: Jay MauMau ft Chege Chigunda — Mtongwe

Jay MauMau's latest release, “Mtongwe,” teams him up with fellow artist Chege Chigunda for a track named after the neighborhood in Mombasa, Kenya, where Jay's own journey in music began.
It's a homecoming record. Long before Africa Is Now became a foundation and an editorial home for Jay's work, Mtongwe was where he first started using music to speak to his community — pushing a creative, conscious, drug-free environment for the youth around him. This track carries that same thread forward, pairing his voice with Chege Chigunda's over a beat built to feel like the street it's named for.
